Café Habana - Broad Channel

Great margarita and fish tacos, music and Cuban good vibes!

Tiny spot (so be prepared to wait) with a fun Cuban-Mexican menu. The grilled corn is delish, although I wish it had more heat. You can also order food to go and eat it a local park.

Disclaimer: this is my first experience at a Cuban cafe. The cubano sandwich was better than I expected! The buns were toasted to perfection. The meat had a nice lime/citrus flavor. The chipotle mayo rounded out the flavor with some kick. The only thing I didn’t like was the ham and cheese on it. I also got rice and beans. They were a kinda bland. Their fries also didn’t have much crunch or flavor. Service was SUPER fast though and very friendly. Worth trying if Cuban food is your thing.

Mediocre Cuban sandwich at best. For $18 and ‘best Cuban in nyc’ I would have expected much more out of them, both in quality and size. Felt like a money grab. Cool inside vibe, but would not recommend to anyone.

Fantastic for our family lunch. A variety of light choices, much more variety than in other places in Havana. Salads, sandwiches, breakfast options. Beautiful Central setting. Friendly, accommodating.
