The service was excellent, the cocktails were delightful, and the food was exceptional. We came across the phrase: “Excellent food that just happens to be vegan,” and we can confirm that this perfectly captures the essence of this restaurant. Every dish was flavorful, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. We particularly enjoyed the avocado and cauliflower, while the risotto was also fantastic, and the dessert was truly out of this world. I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food, regardless of their dietary preferences.
I visited this restaurant for my wife’s birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a birthday card waiting for her at the table. The food was fantastic, and I loved the variety of flavors! The staff was incredibly attentive; they kept our wine and water refilled without us having to ask. Our meals were served promptly, one after the other, and the staff took the time to explain each dish as it arrived. The place has a cozy atmosphere, yet it isn’t cramped—I counted 32 seats indoors, and they also offer outdoor dining. I was really impressed by the quality of the food, the excellent service, and the diversity of the staff. This restaurant is definitely on my list of top vegan spots, and I’m looking forward to visiting their new location!
I would definitely return because the food is both innovative and delicious, especially the avocado and broccoli dishes. However, the lava cake was rather ordinary and somewhat disappointing, featuring an overly sweet chocolate sauce and a cake that was too dry and bland. I would not order this item again.
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. During my week-long trip to NYC, I enjoyed dinner here twice because it was that amazing. Each dish was expertly prepared, featuring a wonderful blend of flavors and textures that complemented each other perfectly. I highly recommend trying the paella and the hen of the woods—they were both incredible! The presentation of the food was also exceptional. However, what impressed me the most was the staff; they were extremely kind and attentive. I can't wait to return!
I spent two weeks in Manhattan with the goal of exploring every vegan restaurant I could find. I visited a range of places, from Eleven Madison Park to Seasoned Vegan and Orchard Grocer, but Avant Garden truly stands out as a superstar. The food was impressively balanced, and their 'table for one' dining experience made me feel genuinely special. Every aspect of Avant Garden reflects thoughtful attention to detail. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend going! Among all the vegan establishments, they had the best cocktail. As a bartender and someone who enjoys fancy cocktails, I found their drink to be genuinely unique—complex yet approachable, with a wonderful mouthfeel that wasn’t overly sweet. Don’t be misled by menu items like “____ toast” and chocolate lava cake with a scoop of ice cream; I understand why these might seem off-putting, but you will not be disappointed by the exceptional quality of these dishes.
