Tootie's - Bristol

I've been visiting this gem in Bristol since the mid-1980s, and the food has consistently been fresh, excellent, and worth twice what you pay for it! I genuinely believe this restaurant puts larger chains like Applebee's to shame. If you haven't tried it yet, make sure to do so soon—you'll be thanking yourself for it!

The best burger can be found in the other Bristol (Tennessee). While Tootie's might fall short in terms of ambiance, it more than makes up for it with its famous burger—the Arvil. This burger is a true behemoth, loaded with onions, and it's simply outstanding. However, aside from the burgers, the menu doesn't offer much variety. The other fried items seem to be pre-packaged and frozen, like corn dogs and similar choices. It's best to enjoy the burger and skip the rest. Stop by Tootie's for the Arvil; you won't miss the atmosphere!

I stopped by to order dinner to-go for my neighbors. The girl who took my order noticed that I had read it off my phone before I handed it to her. She asked if I wanted to pay together or separately, which I really appreciated — I was genuinely impressed! I ordered the Jalapeño Burger, a small order of Maize Nuggets, and a tamale. The Maize Nuggets were excellent, fried to a perfect golden brown and remained completely intact. The tamale was surprisingly good, with a great balance of meat to masa, plenty of flavor, and just the right amount of heat. The Jalapeño Burger was tasty and quite large. I especially liked that the onion was grilled instead of raw. This was my third visit, and it definitely won't be my last!

The double-burger was great! Fries, too. In any case, a meal. The salad, onion and tomatoes were super fresh! Yummy

There's a lot of charm to this restaurant. It gives off those 60s dive diner vibes. The food is great, service is quick and prices are good. Clean and well stocked dining room. What more could you ask for?
