Contribuiți la feedbackWe attended a truffle dinner last week. We all left feeling a bit disappointed. The one large table and bright lights didn't create much of an atmosphere and while the food was tasty, the only truffle we could actually taste was in the first dish. The salmon was quite good and all at the table did mention this, however there were flaws in other dishes that made them less than great. Staff were really nice and service was good.
$7.50 per person for cakeage.... and they don't supply cakes upon request so they're not protecting their business....so for our group of 19 that was going to be a bit excessive. Our waitress was lovely but the bar staff were rude. I was firmly told off for "pushing in" at the bar when all I wanted was a wine glass without lipstick. Food was nice enough but not great. The gnocchi looked like potatoes and tasted like cream.
Great location, very relaxing atmosphere,good service and beautiful food! I really like their "lemon spiced chicken wings"???? the other delicious food we tried was "new farmer’s kitchen charcuterie - jamón serrano, wagyu bresaola, cacciatore salami, spiced chorizo, house-made piccalilli, marinated olive, maffra cloth-aged cheddar, charred focaccia"
I could **** on about the service not being great at times, but all you need to know is the food is class. That wagyu burger – mother of god. I'd love to know how the team out back make a patty so good. I'm pretty sure I've had some sort of delicious fish here before as well, but that burger has stayed with me. It's in my dreams. Great views as well, right on the river. You get a nice breeze off the water. They need to lose the fake plants, though. Plastic is not fantastic – no matter how you spin it.
I say that because I can't decide if I liked Watt Kitchen or not. There was plenty to like: location is great, waitress very friendly, food was good.... But. What's with the overwhelming use of cheap plastic plants? Yuk No air conditioning on a hideously hot summers day (there was a breeze but it was warm), tables set do close that I felt like telling the overbearing woman beside me to please shut up. Our main course was served before our entree plates had been cleared and we were asked to reuse our entree cutlery. Hmmmm Watt used to be so elegant .... I'm not sure I really like this new shift to casual ... the jury is still out. By the way... shared entree, 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine cost us $100 (not $60)
