The Newmarket Hotel - Brisbane

Had a booking for 20 plus. eating was excellent staff great. the waiting time for eating was a bit slow. used drinking glasses were not removed and stacked on the table. a good experience/lunch but space for improvement. large specialties and extensive menu too very cheap trips 4 out of 5 for me.

A group of friends and I regularly book lunch at this restaurant. Today, I ordered my usual chili prawn and scallop spaghetti. Unfortunately, my meal was not up to par. I received what appeared to be a sloppy dish with three prawns, three scallops, and chili mixed with broken fettuccine. When I asked the waitress about it, she informed me that this dish was on the menu for the day. While the taste was still good, the presentation was terrible and the portion size was smaller than usual. I was disappointed with the overall experience and will likely seek out other dining options in the future. - Jacqueline

I made a phone reservation for a family group of 13 for dinner next to a window. However, when we arrived, we were informed that the reservation was only for 2 people and there was no mention of the window seating. The person at the front desk left to get the manager, who seemed uninterested in the mix-up and offered us a table that was not near a window. It appeared that special requests were not a priority. Fortunately, we arrived early and were seated before the restaurant became busy. The service was excellent and the food was served promptly and was better than average.

Two of us ordered the regular special at this restaurant, which included lamb kebabs, salad, and rosti cake, all served on a board for $31 each. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed with the meal. The coating on the lamb kebabs was not good, resembling something you would find on cheap fish from a takeaway shop. The meat was thick, but not of good quality, with some pieces containing gristle. The lamb itself was tough and lacked flavor. The accompanying salad was decent, but not to my liking. The rosti cake was okay, but overall, we would not recommend this dish.

Well speak as you find the food was delicious and I had the mixed grill (perfect) with wife having the chicken salad. I would have liked to give 5 stars but once we were served our main we didn’t see any staff again and need...to go and ask for the desert menu. Personally though I would rather good food and average service rather than the other way around.
