Ruean Phae Thai Restaurant - Brisbane

Found this little Thai restaurant in Newstead while driving in the area. Parking is just about impossible in this area just too many people cars not enough parks. Tried simple soup not even within a bulls roar of what it should...have eased like chilli can only disguise so much very poor. Beef said is not a collection of green leaves covering a few slices of meat in the bottom of the bowl just poor really. The service was friendly but failed to make up for what can only be described as captive food take it or have nothing! It was not inexpensive so very poor value. We will not return

Service was friendly and fast and the food was delicious definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of Thai food. I know I'll be back

I occasionally get pick up Thai lunch from here. They do well priced lunch specials around $10. I enjoy their chicken prawn pad thai, the garlic pepper chicken with rice and their entree fish cakes.

I have only been once and the food was delicious! We ordered the papaya salad, coconut rice, fried rice and tofu and vegetable in cashew stir fry. Loved the vegetarian stir fry, but the papaya salad was strange. In Thailand, the papaya salad had a...lot more papaya and tiny shrimps and crabs were used merely to accent the flavour, however, it was the other way with this restaurant. The soft shelled crab and prawns were about ten times the size of those in Thailand and overwhelmed the freshness of the salad. I didn't expect it so I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have if I had never had the salad in Thailand before. The coconut rice was also a bit too rich and overwhelmingly coconutty. Still, I'm looking forward to my next meal here.

Had a $10 lunch including soft drink. Excellent authentic food. Take your own alcohol. Will defo try it again soon
