Had the most beautiful dinner here last night. My partner and I have been trying to find the best Italian restaurant in Brisbane and we think we've found a strong contender.I had the spaghetti carbonara, which was made in traditional italian style. It was absolutely delicious! My partner had the linguini marinara and loved it. For dessert, we had the pannacotta and cannoli, both of which tasted amazing. We will definitely be back again to try the rest of the menu.
Had a beautiful dinner on a busy Saturday night here at La Famiglia! Unfortunately we had to sit outside (near the walkway entrance) so we missed out on air conditioning and the ambience, but the food itself was delicious! We had seen the menu here on Zomato and were really looking forward to the gnocchi, however they only make gnocchi on certain weekdays (apologies I can't remember which days). Our group had the special bruschetta with fior de latte and the arancini, the latter being the better of the two. For mains we tried the lasagne, ragu (gluten free) and the orcecchiette all were very fresh, large in size and full of flavour. The dessert plate was by far the highlight of the night for just $26 you get to sample all of their desserts, of which we all had our favourites (the nutella mousse was universally loved although). Service was friendly and rather prompt considering how busy they were, however they did forget to bring out a glass of Coke and our bottle of Prosecco took about 25 minutes to come out. If they hadn't have taken as long we probably would have ended up buying two bottles during the night. All in all we would definitely recommend La Famiglia!
Fantastic! Delicious! Excellent service! Almost EVERY meal was made to be gluten free, important as I am celiac, and the food was amazing. The staff were so friendly and seemed to generally care about every customer. Could not recommend enough!
Just when I thought Friday couldn't get any better, along came lunch at this gorgeous bistro. Classic Italian dishes executed expertly with a side of personality familial charm. Our 2 mains shared focaccia were a delight. <br/ <br/ The deceptively simple focaccia almost left us nowhere to go in both size and taste. It was a deadset flavour bomb, exploding complexity in every bite soft dense inside, chewy crispy edges with pops of fresh basil sweetness glistening olive oil drizzled on top. An unexpected highlight.<br/ <br/ La porchetta was bliss on a plate. Juicy, tender pork belly: full stop, say no more. But then...the amazing pancetta, sage, parmesan bread stuffing sweet potato accompaniment was next level. Most the braised kale was kindly gifted to me while Work Bestie crunched through the wonderful crackling, eyes rolling back in her head. Yup: bliss. <br/ <br/ My garganelli al ragu was pasta at its finest. The delicate structure of the aldente pasta tubes held the tomato sauce rich slow cooked meaty chunks beautifully. <br/ <br/ There's a great wine list for all tastes budgets with an array of local Italian varietals. That said, we fully appreciated the cheapass option of a carafe for our quick lunch. (Woohoo a carafe?! Viva l'italia!! <br/ <br/ Lovely waitstaff exuded warmth enthusiasm as did chef/owner Cos who happily chatted with diners. Thank you for taking time out from the kitchen to share your passion with us. <br/ <br/ When chefs care enough to adopt seasonal menu changes, how can we not eagerly anticipate returning?? And what about gnocchi Tuesdays? Pffft see you again real soon Cos Deb.
