Thought of having nice char kway teow..but unfortunately it was charred to the extent it was bitter...couldn't eat. Service: Dine in Price per person: A$1–20

Gave it a go due to the award winner posters on the wall. Went there with a party of 4. We ordered the chicken, char kwey teow, chicken laksa, beef rendang, nasi goreng and mi goreng. 1.mi goreng tasted funky. New car smell and taste was how my child described it. 2.beef rendang was very tough. It felt like chewing on a rubber slipper 3.nasi goreng was too salty 4.chicken laksa was very average 5.the CKT and chicken were decent and the only thing I would call food 6.coke was room temperature. Revisited the Lemak store on weekend. Ordered my favourite Char kway teow again. It has improved after provided the feedback to the cook in my last visit (was very salty). It taste authentic just like back home's. Will patronise the store again whenever I missed the Char kway teow back home. I didn't have high expectations when I visited this small Indonesian/Malaysian restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavors and reasonable prices. We enjoyed our dinner there and also ordered some dishes to take home for my kids on Friday night. I highly recommend this place! This award winning food stall is a gem inside the Westfield mall. For this review, I've tried their signature fried chicken (2 piece) with nasi lemak. Soft, juicy pieces of chicken with crispy skin. The coconut cream infused into the rice and crispy fried anchovies was a beautiful match. The overall balance of the flavours made this visit a happy one.
