Kongee Cafe - Brisbane

Nice little place a couple of blocks from our hotel. We enjoyed the banana bread and sultana bread ($4.00 for 1 slice, $7 for 2 slices). They have the usual wraps and sandwiches for breakfast, plus the cooked meals. Unusually, they also offer Congee. It's a savory or sweet rice dish often eaten for breakfast in China. Hubby especially liked it when we visited China. I was more taken with noodle dishes for breakfast. Anyway, both mornings we visited had many Asian customers enjoying the congee. The service is well organized and friendly. The coffee is reasonably priced. I've become a fan of the flat white. It's about all I've been drinking. We would definitely return.

Ivy, Tiffany and Miguel are the best! The food is always spot on, breakfast and lunches are great and different to the usual. Service friendly and accommodating. I miss their night time service the meals were superb!

I live locally and run a finance business from home so frequently meet clients and business associates at Kongee. The experience has generally been ok but met a colleague for lunch here on 17/1 and the experience was abysmal. The male who served us, mucked up our order which was placed at 1.30pm. The food was brought out at about 2pm and was definitely not worth the wait. We were sitting and eating and discussing business and at 2.25pm, the male who had mucked up the order anyway, was cleaning up around us while we were still eating and was obviously not wanting to work a minute past the 2.30pm closing time. Then to further demonstrate his enthusiasm about emptying the store, he went and turned off the airconditioning while we were still eating and the place was all closed up. This was on a day where the temperature was 35 degrees outside and very humid. Disgraceful. This guy shouldn't be employed in a service industry. We left furious and will not be back.I realise my review is in stark contrast to the other few here. I am not generally a very demanding person but this treatment was atrocious and I feel it should be mentioned in this forum. I will keep walking to the Breakfast Creek across the road next time.

We had Hot breakfast for day's that we stayed at apartment it was very very nice also had coffee in the afternoon.
