When the bowl of noodle soup arrived and I wasn't greeted with the familiar aroma and a light clear broth, I knew it wasn't right. And it indeed wasn't. It actually tasted more like Taiwanese beef noodle soup, assumingly with the addition of five spice powder and soy sauce, hence the brown colour. Either Chef Luke created a version that's no longer identifiable as "phở", or there's some serious miscommunication in the recipe. Not necessarily a bad bowl of noodle soup, but definitely not what it says it is on the menu. What a waste of $24. hippokathy.weebly.com
I've been wanting to try celebrity chef, Luke Nguyen's Fat Noodle Asian Restaurant inside the Treasury Brisbane Casino! I think it is slightly overrated, food is tasty but average, price is high (a 'gourmet' Vietnamese pork roll costs $20). I give a tick for speedy service. weekendnotes.com
Disappointing. Absolutely beautiful interior, super fast service and complimentary tea. That's about all the good I can say. Had the signature pho noodles and laksa. Incredibly bland food - lacking spice, complexity and flavour - and for >$20 a bowl you really expect something special. Save your money and find somewhere else more authentic.
The Fat Pho Noodles is not even close to authentic Pho dish. Overly salty and broth does not taste fresh. You're better off going to Sunnybank and pay half the price and eating something close to Vietnam.
Great lunch spot in the CBD. Food simple, very tasty and served quickly. The mee goreng was delicious. Tables were very close together. Yum!
