Izakaya Goku - Brisbane

We had a unique experience at this restaurant and it was fantastic! We definitely plan on returning. The interior is also beautiful.

I tried the salmon lunch special and it was fantastic! I definitely look forward to returning. The ambiance inside the restaurant was also great.

Lunch specials at $15 offer a good selection. My wife and I had there udon/veg tempura and a full price wagyu beef bento box. Service was good...but.....the food quality left much to be desired. tempura was okay, but other items were not so good. Fried...fish in the bento box was hard, rubbery and smelly. The Wagyu beef (large portion) was anything but and was most like a cheap Chinese takeaway beef with heaps of glossy corn starch and no flavour. We won 't go back.

Basic setting Large quantity of food provided Nothing flash but ok Practiced covid rules upon entry etc nice to see. Wouldn’t make a special trip back but would go again if in the area. Reasonable prices.

Struggled with the ambience on this one and service was hit and miss ... But the food was great value for money. Sashimi exceptional and enjoyed that with a bottle of saki. Will return bit not as a romantic night out
