Harvey's Bar & Bistro - Brisbane

The food quality is excellent and imaginative. Great location , in the middle of shops and the cinema. Great bar but if the staff are nice to you , you’re really lucky . Not always our first choice because who wants to put up with that carry on !!!

I visited Harveys on the weekend with a friend. The restaurant is clean and the outdoor area is lovely. The food was nice, albeit I had an issue with mine. My friend had the prawn risotto and I had the gnocchi with blue cheese. The texture of my gnocchi was technically superb, however the blue cheese was very lacking it needed double the amount provided to register. It was disappointing as I was left with gnocchi in butter with mushrooms. The main area for improvement at Harvey's is the service. It does not meet the standard required to justify the prices charged. We expected better.

On James St you are always spoilt for choice for places to eat. But sometimes all you want is a classic Harveys Chicken Salad.

I love Harvey’s, and seriously the food is always perfection. This time the food remained perfection, BUT we had a waiter who made me feel as though I was nothing but scum. I was with my 3 year old daughter who was very well behaved. I will focus on my two main concerns. 1. He walked to the serving counter at least 5 times and was able to see my daughters little pink milkshake, and he would go right up to it and then turn around and talk to one of the other waiters. 2. We were partly also looked after by a lovely lady, she was gorgeous and settled our bill. As we were at the pavement I hear a “sweety” it didn’t work you need to come back and fix up your bill. I was like ok. He made me feel so uncomfortable the entire dining session, I just wanted to fix it and be done. The lovely lady saw him processing it, and said to him she has already paid, it’s gone through. He was quite rude to her, shushed her away and said the server is down…. Later that afternoon, I checked my bank no there were two Billings but pending. This morning I have checked Yes two Billings, and both processed.

Delicious lunch with excellent wine chosen by our waiter. quick service which was great as our daughter was in her lunch break
