Gilhooleys Steakhouse - Brisbane

Value for money, quick service, decent steak and a glass of wine... I'm in! While Gilhooleys won't blow you away with anything spectacularly amazing, it will deliver good, honest pub food at a good price. Steak is always cooked well so I'm happy! Ordered eye filter for lunch, but it was dry and chewy. As if partially pre cooked. Chips was served hot. Garlic sauce was average. Ambience is good. Perhaps next time will try something else.

Loved the lamb shanks- the crispy shallot on top of shanks is a nice touch- my partner got the rump steak with chips and onion rings- the onion rings were average as it was 99% batter can barely see the onion- wait time was long as it was Friday night with only 2 cooks in the kitchen

Me a couple of my mates from work hit the G spot most Friday's for lunch.  Two of us do the Rump Steak for $15, done medium with mushroom sauce, complimented by chips only.  The G spot chips are probably amongst the best in Brisbane.  Crunchy, full of flavour.  The steak has improved from the gristle faire they used to offer up, and have since replaced with much better rump.  The floor and surroundings are a little dodgy, showing signs of the high jinks that clearly goes on later in the evening.  Its typical to feel your feet stick to the carpet when traversing this hazmat section.  Be prepared to walk back out into the open air environment feeling like you've been "born again", despite not having been accosted by a couple of rogue Mormons.  The G spot has its own unique character, and we'll be back to sample our Friday special again....

This place has become one of our regular stops! Love the beers offered on tap, the live entertainment is always great, and the food is just like home cooked. Service is fantastic and friendly!  The Fish & Chips are perfectly cooked crispy and flaky each time. The Bangers and Mash are so homey and comforting.  Cannot wait until our next visit.
