Efes One offer a variety of classic Turkish meze, mains and deserts, all packed full of flavour. There is nothing here that I have tried and disliked. The belly dancer they have on the weekends adds to the atmosphere but I must admit I don't really dig shaking booty in my face when I'm trying to enjoy my dinner perhaps best left for a little later in the evening. The restaurant is licenced and sells a great range of international beers and wines. The best thing about every Turkish restaurant however (Efe's One not excluded) is a strong Turkish coffee and a piece of sweet sticky baklava at the end of your meal.
Went for dinner last night and it was great. Between 4 adults we got an assortment of bread and dips; then 4 main meals to share between us. The flavours were fantastic. Everyone especially loved anything with bread in it. The pida (Turkish pizza) was particularly good. Quite decent value too. We paid $132 for entree, 4 mains and 4 drinks.
Really great Turkish restaurant on a busy restaurant strip in Albion. This exotic Turkish find has plenty of room inside so it makes a wonderful place to dine with plenty of friends and family. I've been here recently for a birthday and we had a large table for 15 people. I was afraid it would be difficult shuffling people around but the staff were so accommodating and friendly, it made a wonderful dining experience. We also enjoyed belly-dancing entertainment as we ate dessert. Great place to have authentic Turkish cuisine. Bookings for Friday and Saturday night is recommended.
I have never dined in, but have taken advantage of their takeaway kebab menu after enjoying a few beers at The Albion Hotel across the road. My go to kebab is the doner kebab with the lot and as far as kebabs go it was pretty tasty. I have found, however that I never receive tabouli, even after asking for extra. My one gripe would be the amount of time it takes to get your order. After waiting for almost 45 for my two kebabs on my first visit, the second time I ordered over the phone and went to pick it up around half an hour later. When I arrived they seemed panicked and the waitress frantically went into the kitchen where I could not hear her, only see her wildly gesticulating at the chef. I assume my order was never relayed to the kitchen staff. Twenty minutes later I got my kebab. The third occasion I ordered was not much better. Even though I have heard great things about this restaurant, I probably won't try the dine in option any time soon as I feel the customer service is sub par.
Had never had Turkish before so had no expectations going in. We were in a large group of 20 ppl and we got the $40 banquet...it was amazing. There was a range of dips, breads, pides, haloumi, veges, meat and dessert. There was so much food you could not have left hungry. I will definitely be going back. Service was ok...but did not impact our experience.
