While we had a bar tab, they opened more than one bottle of the same...Because at the same time we did not notice until the end of the night, the weeping behind us with the weeping was set up on a deep tub, and we just did not pay enough attention, which led to three open bottles of the same wee, both still quite full, and we were expected to pay for these bottles. we had asked ourselves to report when we spent our room, but this conversation was conveniently forgotten and we had to pay much more than we had planned. these young are not interested in promoting a good customer experience at all. also the toilets were very scary and even slept early in the night terrible. I noticed from another review page that another party and a similar experience. this valet was not one of our party. there are so many choices in brisbane, these young have to lift their game.
Ambience is nice steak was marginal for $78 they can not martini and do not know how to serve one. they have an open grill, but the sweet was not grilled and should be a bit of a bit carved as a signature thing. for this restaurant. service was good and friendly ambiente is nice but noisy
Food was very good in particular the steak and side dishes. Entree of good quality but small and really too expensive. Service was poor but we know what staffing issues are like so maybe forgivable. Biggest issue here is wine mark up is ridiculous, 300%...to 400%. I would not return for this reason alone.
The service was fantastic. We had the seafood platter to begin. Each piece on the platter was delicious and unique. For mains we both had steak and they were tender and tasty. We really enjoyed our dinner here.
Blackbird still offers a great option for steak in Brisbane. I was there for a business dinner, the majority of those dining on the night that were there were couples, many having anniversary celebrations. On this my 8th visit it is not what it was...for the first couple of years however still offers beef perfectly cooked and a great red wine selection. There is nothing not to like. We started G+T's and then oysters mignonette and kingfish crudo, both were fresh and competently done. I had the Angus 200g tenderloin with bearnaise, the steak was good not as tender as I had hoped which is unusual for tenderloin but was perfectly cooked. The sauce wonderful, my host had Wagyu hanger which was polished up quickly and so I assume that it was great. The baked dutch cream potatoes were as always very good but have lost some of their tenderness and theatricality now that they aren't baked in clay. Service was very professional and attentive. The wine list remains one of Brisbane's best.
