Contribuiți la feedbackBeautiful cafe in City Hall. Service was wonderful and we loved our morning tea here. Coffee tasted great. Great spot to enjoy a quiet coffee in the middle of the city.
We sat in this lovely iconic cafe, 10/15 minutes later we thought do we need to go to counter to order,,, there was no staff around. Finally we saw someone so we waived our menus and a waiter come. We could’ve had a coffee in this time and ordered another one by then. He took our order and I had to ask for water, our glasses would’ve still been empty. Terrible service,,,I read reviews of other people who had the same experience,,,very sad! Get your act together,,,this is such a lovely icon of Brisbane,,,,soon you won’t have anyone there as bad news travel fast. We did walk out as after 1/2 hour we still had nothing.
After a bad experience earlier this year we decided to give Shingle Inn City Hall another chance well wasnt that a bad decision!! My friend and I ordered Hot Chocolate but received luke warm chocolate after waiting about 20mins When we went to exit the cafe and pay there was nobody working on the counter so we pressed the bell at least twice before some guy looking quite harassed came out but he didnt seem to know how much change to give us out of a $20 note for the two coffees or was having problems with the cash register in which case a queue of people were waiting to enter the cafe and were not impressed This establishment knows that on a given Tuesday in each month it will always be busy knowing that the City Hall hosts a concert between 12 and 1pm on those days but as per usual the staffing is disgraceful I can assusre you we will not be attending this cafe again...... regards Heather McKenzie
Service was so slow, I started to get up thinking I had to order at the counter. Cheap ingredients, seeded mustard dripping off ham sandwich, dry bread, egg sandwich was half an egg in four chunks covered in poor grade mayonnaise. Cream for scone was solid and had melted then been reset spread like butter. Tea came in pot, only enough for one cup no extra hot water or milk provided and I wasn’t asked if I wanted milk. For a very quiet place only two other tables) this took a good 45 minutes to come. Tea came first and was nearly finished by the time the tray came. Very disappointing as it could have been a delight.
My Husband and myself went for a birthday lunch ,it was dreadful. I had a salad Sandwich on wholemeal bread which was stale and very dry . with no butter. Certainly not worth the $16 or so .My husband had a so called salad he said it was the worst meal. He has had in a long time , it had tinned chickpeas . and certainly was not worth the $16 or so. We also had a glass of rose wine, each about the only thing that was pleasant. Altogether it was $50 odd. We complain to staff .
