After travelling 6 hours during the night and waiting for the ticket counters to open I went to enjoy a much needed breakfast. I can't understand the high praise other people have given as I was expecting the best breakfast ever. How disappointing. I ordered poached eggs on toast and got a plate full of water with my eggs and the toast was warmed bread which was as tough as shoe leather. Unfortunately the coffee was not much better. It tasted bitter and burnt. Had to leave most of it behind as I couldn't eat it. Went next door and had Red Rooster.
Finally, a decent dining option at Brisbane International Airport! Whilst waiting to board our flight, I enjoyed their benedict and a decent coffee to kill the time. It truly is fabulous and refreshing to have a dining option that isn't typically "airport food".
The Botanist is a beautifully furnished restaurant and bar. From Flat White to White Chocolate Mocha, the specialist Merlo blended Coffee is a genuine highlight, richer than the award winning Coffee Club yet not overbearing such as Stella Rossa. Yummy cakes and pastries - including Apple Danish and Raspberry and White Chocolate Sweet Muffins - are a must for any sweet tooth adventurers, while for something different, Tea lovers should check out the G.L.E.W tea (try with a dash of vanilla syrup for some extra magic).Elsewhere in The Botanist range, theres a whole plethora of hot and cold food choices (including Veggie and Gluten free options), while delicious breads packed with generous, gourmet fillings are ideal for those on the move who don't want a run of the mill sandwich. A big brekkie range (including Avocado and Feta Smash and the ingeniously titled Big Break-Feast) caters for the fussiest of tastes, alongside trademark favourites from Chef's Pie of the Day to Fish and Chips. To wash it down with, there's classic Aussie Pale Ales (such as the adorably titled Lazy Zak, for instance) or, failing that, a Jameson's or Johnny Walker to kill time waiting for the jet... Best of all, if you want fresh, local Queensland produce, look no further. If you are seeking quality food and drink, The Botanist pushes all the right buttons.
The Botanist was new to Brisbane International Airport since my last visit. Wandered over for breakfast after an early morning start. So good! Ordered avo
