Ten plus years later, and I'm thinking dreaming about their tandoori chicken naan sandwiches. I unfortunately was never able to find their truck, and I think they closed down their truck business a few years ago. Fast forward to September 2018. I had left California to move to North Carolina and found an Indian restaurant on Yelp in Raleigh, North Carolina (well technically in Morrisville) that had good ratings. I went to said Indian restaurant, was very impressed, and started to talk to the owners of said restaurant. I shared with them my love for Tandoori Chicken USA and shared with them that the restaurant had closed over ten years ago, yet I still think about their tandoori chicken naan wraps. The owners assured me that they could re-create the tandoori chicken naan wrap for me. I was skeptical (EXTREMELY skeptical) but I took them up on their offer. They put together a wrap for me, consisting of made in house naan, tandoori chicken also made in house, lettuce, mint chutney also made in house and their masala mayo, also made in house. I ate it and I was shocked. It tasted almost like my beloved Tandoori Chicken USA tandoori chicken naan wrap. HOLY ****. The moral of the story is this. Firstly, Tandoori Chicken USA- WE MISS YOU! PLEASE COME BACK! And, secondly, if you happen to be in Raleigh North Carolina for work or pleasure, visit Masala Wrap in Morrisville and ask them to create a wrap for you from naan, tandoori chicken, lettuce, mint chutney and masala mayo. You will be shocked and amazed at how similar it is to our beloved Tandoori Chicken USA's wrap. In closing, while I am sad that Tandoori Chicken USA is no longer, I feel grateful to live near Masala Wrap, that makes incredible Indian food, including a great dup for our beloved TC USA's wrap!
Our favorite place to eat ever since 2004. We've missed them since they've closed their physical locations. We find their truck once in awhile but it's super hard for us to find but it's worth the drive when we do.
So I have eaten this every Wednesday (when in SF) for four years. I love their paneer sandwich. I ate it with the bread when I felt like eating like **** and over a salad when I felt like being nicer to my body. I got to know everyone at the truck for a long time and I used to look forward to Wednesday's. Now they dropped off the face of the earth and I don't think I will ever get that marinated paneer and spicy cilantro chutney (aka green sauce) in my life. WHERE ARE YOU GUYS? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!! I NEED YOUR FOOD IN MY LIFE
Man do i wish this place came every week to Vallejo and Front. While I haven't had anything else that had the bad reviews (Chicken Tikka Marsala), I've always, always had the best sandwhich there. The Chicken Tandoori Sandwich. It's literally the one thing I think about every Monday. Even when it's not here, I think about it... I suggest getting this sandwhich because everything is pretty delicious. The tandoori is spot on, it feels lighter since the bread isn't thick, the greens is good and the sauce.. the sauce is soo friggin good, it's ridiculous.... I'm actually super glad the line isn't long when I go because people just don't know how good it actually is so yay for me
I have still yet to be lucky enough to catch your food truck somewhere... I miss when you were in El Sobrante.. those sandwiches are the best! I still crave them!
