La Mine d'Or - Brioux-sur-Boutonne

That should have been a special dinner at the silvester, but it was destroyed by bad cooking. the buyers were of good quality and tasty, but the fish course, lotte a l’americaine, was overboiled and the sauce was disgusting. I think it was, especially tinted tomato with sugar added! then the trou, wanted to refresh her palate, absolutely not. who ever thought bananeneis cream with a shot of a hard spirit would do that! the next cure was venison, but again a nice piece meat was seriously overcooked. I couldn't eat it and wasn't tried by tinted green beans either. my complaining that it was boiled badly, but was filled with a repulsive carpet. after that I did not stay for the cheese or teller desserts. No, thanks. among the previous owners I eat regularly in this restaurant, but I will not go back there. Too bad.

We have lived locally for about a year now but somehow this one passed us by. Went there for first time last week and found the restaurant , food and overall experience to be the best since arriving in a France. Will be back often... especially when U.K. friends and family visit us.

We bought a holiday home in the area a couple of years ago and decided to visit the restaurant instead of our usual local. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the owners are very tentative. My daughter and myself had the assorted starter which...consisted of an excellent choice which included things like Cockles, Cheese, French Sausage, Chorizo, ham, couscous, salad, boiled egg, pork pie and much more. We then had fish which was cooked beautifully and our daughter has the chicken nugget delicacy (I think she wishes she had trout with us). We then had cheese, desert and coffee which were all beautiful. Service, food and price all excellent. This will now become one of our regular locations.

We have been here a number of times and have always had a good meal at lunchtime. The menu de jour is around 12.50 euro for three courses but you have to pay extra for wine. The buffet entree is particular good and always fresh

Rien à redire sur la quantité, la qualité et le sourire de la patronne ainsi que la serveuse. Décoration vintage. Il est toujours agréable de venir déjeuner.
