Contribuiți la feedbackWhen Dub Pressure was held here, it was truly exceptional. However, as the music scene has evolved, I feel the club has fallen behind. While they still host some decent nights, none have managed to capture the gritty energy that came with the GRAMPS HI-FI sound system during those events. The club has a solid layout, and when it's crowded, the main room can be a lot of fun. The downstairs area is smaller (and the main room isn't particularly large either), which can be a bit frustrating, but at least it offers an alternative.
The place had a slightly grungy feel, but I actually appreciated that vibe. I can picture how much fun a night out here would be, with a spacious dance floor, a live DJ playing drum and bass, and a well-stocked bar offering reasonably priced drinks. What more could you ask for when you’re in the mood to party? On the downside, the toilets were pretty disgusting—definitely not ideal for a daytime drink—but I was feeling happy and a little tipsy from the sun and beer, so it didn’t bother me too much that day. The bar staff were friendly, and there were plenty of groups enjoying themselves, including what looked like a stag party. The presence of locals made it feel welcoming, which is always a good sign. I’d love to return for a fun night out filled with drinks and dancing!
This venue is the perfect spot for enjoying underground beats and a relaxed vibe, without the pretentiousness often found in many of the city's beachfront clubs. While it's on the smaller side, the size is just right for the events held here. A significant advantage is that the bar is separate from the main dance floor, which means no one has to navigate through crowded guests to grab a drink. The main room is located upstairs, while there's a smaller, more laid-back space downstairs. During the summer, like many beachfront clubs, it operates as a café/bar during the day, offering takeaway drinks and simple food. It may not be luxurious or glamorous—some might even call it a bit grungy—but it guarantees a lot of fun.
The Volks used to be the place to go if you were too drunk to get in anywhere else. I think that says a lot about a place in a very positive way come in and have a good laugh if you 're out of order, you 're going to get booted out . The reggae and dub nights in here are pretty famous around town. Last time I was in there it was raging drum and bass and the whole atmosphere was electric! Beers are pretty cheap here and you always get a fantastic crowd!
I love my drum and bass and Volks is the perfect place to let your hair down and have a fun night dancing away to some drum and bass. The place itself is a bit grubby, dingy and quite gloomy, but this really doesn't matter when you're on the dance floor with a group of friends raving the night away! It has a downstairs area with a separate DJ set, the downstairs area is fairly small with a couple of sofas and a small space to dance on; however it doesn't seem that small as the wall is covered with mirrors. Drinks prices are slightly under probably slightly average but not overly cheap. The atmosphere is very laid back and fun. Everyone who goes there goes to have a big night. A classic drum and bass club, even if it is a little worse for wear inside, if you're into drum and bass it's definitely worth a visit.
