Mekan Charcoal Grill Meze

Good location on Palmeira Square and parking is free after 8pm, friendly staff, good food.. but a few things... Portion size was different for those of a party of 10 that had the mixed grill, some were piled and others had a lot less. Orders were missed for two people, so food turned up at staggered times which left those with no food feeling a bit awkward as nothing arrived for a good 20 minutes. Think this was because we had two people taking the order rather than one. Also sauces were provided when most of the group were on the home straight of their meal. It was busy which gave a good atmosphere and filled up very quickly with a lively background noise. The aroma of the food cooking gave that extra ambiance. It did genuinely feel that a group of 10 was difficult to serve. But the food was good and reasonably priced, fact the price is on par with your local charcoal grill, but for day a couple of a group of 4 then this is the perfect venue. Some issues, but will.go back again in the future. Perfect for Valentines or date night.

Akin made the whole experience so wonderful. He’s very gentle by nature and attentive. My friend and I were supposed to celebrate her birthday meal here but had to cancel due to sickness. I went along and ordered take away instead. He offered my Turkish tea while I waited for my order and when he found out it was for her birthday he gave us a free caramel cheesecake and sent their birthday love. Well it goes without saying. The food was phenomenal! Thank you x

Have been in person lots of time and it’s a favourite of ours. This was the first time takeaway. Initial hiccup with half the order turning up, but the manager and chef drove out to mine personally with the rest of the food plus some extras and apologised. Order was fixed and we really appreciated the personal touch. Food as always was top notch. Favourite Turkish grill in the city. Look forward to ordering again.

It was wonderful experience and tasty as well. This restaurant is the best in the town I can say that. Inside is huge and wide, musics well can be a bit high volume. Foods were delicious and proper cooked. Especially, grilled lamp chops and lamp shish was great taste and well cooked which we were expecting. All staffs were friendly and good behaviour. Starters were another level quality as well. Strongly suggested place. We love it.
