Contribuiți la feedbackCame here after glowing recommendations from both friends and neibours. You should believe the hype. A truely fantastic and interesting dining experience that needs to be done. Hope they keep it going or find a permanent home as this could easily become a regular spot. Service was really professional and engaging. Thank you
I visited this restaurant with friends earlier this week. The tasting menu was absolutely stunning, featuring some truly unique dishes. The restaurant is located in a stylish coach house in the Brunswick area of Hove. The amuse bouches were particularly delicious, with standout dishes like crispy chicken skins with coriander and lemongrass. Highlights of the meal included a delightful King Crab dish, quail with honey and pear, perfectly cooked cod with chorizo and samphire, and a tasty beef dish with wasabi, apple, and balsamic. The meal ended with a decadent dark chocolate and Yuzu sphere. Mark, please put together another tasting menu soon!
The 6-course tasting menu at this restaurant is fantastic. If only they had a permanent location, they would surely build a loyal following and fan base. At £45 per person, it is great value, especially when you can bring your own wine. The food is delicately prepared and delicious, and the service is friendly. We even ended up enjoying dessert wine with the staff and hearing their story. I wish them success. My daughter, who was visiting from Dubai, liked it so much that she went back a second time with her friends, and they all loved it just as much.
Truthfully it was a gnats whisker away from being excellent but better than very good. The service was just fantastic as were some of the food elements it just needed a little extra in the way of food .Maybe if the cheese with port had been big enough to see we would have felt more fed. Some might think that £45 is a bit much but with no profit from drinks its hard to see how Alex Mark could do it for less The lamb and pork mains were sensational. I stongly recomend a visit whilst you can
Mark's dishes are beautifully presented and intricately constructed, showcasing a perfect blend of original and harmonious flavors. Despite their small size and complexity, each ingredient stands out and complements the dish as a whole. The cider braised pork, for example, was topped with a thin crackling skin and paired with complementary sauces. The overall dining experience is excellent value, especially with the BYOB policy. Mark's culinary talent rivals that of Michelin-starred restaurants, and I would not hesitate to place Maw among my most memorable dining experiences. I hope Mark can find a permanent location, even if it means moving away from Brighton. I will definitely be following him wherever he goes.
