Burroughs Roadhouse - Brighton

The area where we were seated was quite empty, yet seven tables remained uncleared, piled with dirty dishes and remnants of previous meals. The seating arrangement was uncomfortable. Our server didn’t remove empty glasses or plates, leaving things messy. Overall, I was disappointed with the entire experience.

This is an excellent spot for catching up with friends! The service was fantastic, the menu offered plenty of delicious options, and we had a wonderful time on our date night!

We decided to try this restaurant because it offers a longer-than-usual gluten-free menu. However, I would recommend that the owners work on enhancing the flavors of their dishes. For instance, we ordered gluten-free shrimp, which turned out to be quite bland and unappetizing. Additionally, the quality control from the kitchen needs to be improved. For example, the cold queso dip and chips should have been avoided; not only were we out of chips, but the waitstaff also seemed unaware of the issue. It took 20 minutes for our starter to arrive, and to make matters worse, we ended up with two identical salads on our table even though we only ordered one. The salads were also missing several ingredients that the other had. While we see some potential in the restaurant, it seems that the bar area is currently prioritized over the dining experience.

We had a new waiter who knew nothing about the service; have not taken the menus, never returned to see if we wanted to weep more, not on how our food was and taken forever to bring the leak. Unfortunately, it is obvious that this restaurant has seen better days.

This was our first time at Burroughs. My husband and I had been wanting to go here since it’s close to our home and we had heard good things. We had an issue with the wrong food coming out a few times but overall the food was good and I got a free glass of wine for the trouble.
