The Restaurant at Drakes - Brighton

Very quiet due to corona pandemic. Waiters were rather concerned as in zero hours contract and the restaurant were letting them go after 5 years service and no redundancy. I’m hoping the government actions help them. Food was good but not fantastic. But expensive for what it was.

Had our 28th anniversary celebration dinner. Food excellent and looked after by Anthony. Lovely evening.

The staff, atmosphere and food were all excellent. We were a family of 4 with young boys aged 12 and 10. Upon booking the staff advised that the chef would happily prepare simpler food if required, this was a nice gesture, but wasn't necessary. The staff and children interaction was very pleasant!

Beautiful setting and food was perfect for a birthday celebration . The special birthday plate after dessert was enjoyed by us all.

Wow wow wow! What a find. This restaurant and hotel is a hidden treasure in Brighton and Hove. The menu, service, food and wine is exceptional. Choose the taster menu. Choose amazing wines paired or not you will not be disappointed. This is a very special place and I will make sure this is a firm favourite and somewhere I will return to again and again.
