Divino Wine Bar - Brighton

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. It was a birthday gift that I was really looking forward to. When we arrived, no one informed us about what came with the steak meal. In the end, we had to look through the menu ourselves and discovered that it only came with mixed vegetables. Since no one officially took our order, I had to call someone over to request a side of fries for both of us. However, they did not mention that the meal already came with fries! When our food arrived, it came with fries, and then after we finished eating, they brought us two more sides of fries. The staff were not friendly and seemed unwelcoming. I will not be returning to this restaurant. It felt like they were trying to rush us out as quickly as possible and no one came to ask if we wanted more drinks. I left feeling very disappointed.

Didn’t stay to eat. The menu as advertised on OpenTable was no longer available. There was a short menu of about five items that had to be read out to us as there was no printed menu available inside. Also I had no Coca-Cola! One other couple was dining there and, given everywhere else was really busy, that seemed really odd. We decided to leave.

I had a great dining experience at this lovely restaurant with friendly staff. The only criticism I have is that the steak I ordered did not come with a sauce. When I asked for horseradish, the waitress was not familiar with it. Despite that, the steak was wonderful and really delicious. It would have been nice to have a peppercorn sauce or something similar available.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we were not greeted. We had made a reservation to dine and were only given one drinks menu. We decided to start with cocktails. Within 10 minutes, a large group of Eastern Europeans arrived, loudly greeting the staff while wearing tracksuits and trainers. It became apparent that this restaurant, which had a nice atmosphere and decor, was run by Eastern Europeans who seemed to cater to a similar clientele. We ultimately decided not to order food and left to dine elsewhere in search of a better environment.

Salad was brown and soggy, unimaginative side dish’s Barman was very nice but inexperienced with the cocktails. Paid cash and was expecting change which I was going to leave as a tip but never got our change back. Anyway Barman deserved it for his efforts to get my drink right.
