T S Smith Sons - BRIDGEVILLE

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The owner has created a wonderful family-friendly atmosphere where kids can play while parents shop. The food is fantastic, too. Although we now live 20 minutes away, my husband insists on driving over whenever he can just to enjoy their breakfast sandwiches. The place is clean, the staff are incredibly friendly, and it’s an overall lovely spot to visit. I highly recommend it!

I bought some apples from the main store about a week ago. Unfortunately, two out of the three varieties I purchased were mushy and mealy, as if they hadn’t been stored properly. I was quite disappointed given the price.

T. S. Smith Sons is an ideal lunch spot when you want to take a break from your explorations in Bridgeville. This family-owned farm spans 800 acres and boasts the oldest apple, peach, and nectarine orchards in the state. In addition to these fruits, the farm also grows a variety of vegetables, including asparagus, sweet corn, strawberries, broccoli, tomatoes, squash, and cantaloupe. Indulge in their delicious fresh apple cider donuts and a selection of jams and jellies, or pick up some fresh produce to enjoy on your journey.

They offer a large selection of baked goods, including pies, muffins, cakes, breads, and cookies. Alongside the apples, there’s a good variety of fall vegetables, plus pumpkins and gourds. The deli section serves sandwiches, including melts and grilled options. For dessert, they have Vandewende's ice cream available in cones, milkshakes, and quart containers to take home. Additionally, you'll find jelly, trail mix, apple cider slushies, candy, flowers, and fruit baskets, along with other items. They also offer a u-pick experience for apples and pumpkins. I did notice a sign for a petting zoo, but I forgot to check it out after we finished shopping.

I worked for this company for one 8-hour day and completed all the tasks assigned to me. However, I was never paid for my hours. When I reached out to their HR department, I was assured that I would receive a check, but it never arrived. I followed up a second time but received no response. While $88 might not be significant to them, as a senior on a fixed income, it's enough for a week's worth of groceries for me. I'm very disappointed with their business practices. - Kathy F.
