I had not been to Mario the Baker prior to my visit the other day. The family was looking for pizza, and Mario popped up in our Google search. As we pulled up outside, I was skeptical about going in. I couldn't imagine what I would find entering the place. Much to my surprise and delight, it is a cozy Italian restaurant with white linen tablecloths. We were there for takeout, though, and we wanted pizza. We ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni pizza and an order of garlic knots. The pizza was excellent, with a crispy crust, balanced sauce, ample pepperoni, and cheese. The garlic knots were tasty and garlicky. After our takeout experience, we decided that we are definitely going to go back and have a sit down meal.

The food at this restaurant is consistently delicious. However, during my last visit, I asked for a box to take my salad home. The waitress brought me the containers and proceeded to pack the salad herself as part of the service. Unfortunately, when transferring the salad into the container, not all of it came out, prompting her to use her bare hands to scrape the remainder into the box. I was shocked and expressed my concerns about her touching the food with her bare hands. She tried to explain that she was just trying to get all the salad in, but I decided to decline the salad altogether. This incident left me questioning if the staff handles food with their bare hands while packing it in the kitchen. It was a truly unpleasant experience.
