Agreed, but this does not bode for a good welcome and having dined here I can see why some might not be too happy (no need for abuse though). It was busy and we sat at a table thar had just been vacated empty plates etc still on table. We were advised 25 min wait for food, no issue there. The food came out on time, however, it came out before anyone had bothered to come and clear the table of the last customers plates. Not good. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Food was OK but nothing special. Would not go back.
We have been here several times over the months, and the food is ok, although they do seem to use very cheap ingredients for the meals. The general appearance of the cafe leaves a lot to be desired. A lick of paint and a good clean up would do wonders. The staff do their best, but it's just not a nice place to be. A bit greasy and run down cheap plastic cloths on the tables, uncomfortable chairs and cutlery that digs into the palm of your hand. There's a dirty, greasy mat right at the entrance. Such a pity as a bit of thought and interest from the owners could turn this place into somewhere you might want to go, as it's right in the middle of the main shopping street and should attract lots of custom. Most of the time it's half empty, which tells you all you need to know.
This is a typical seaside cafe (not far from Town Beach seafront) with friendly staff and freshly cooked food. We called in here for lunch last Wednesday (16 August) when we visited Porthcawl. A good menu variety at reasonable prices. I had a lovely 3 filled omelette with salad whist my partner had chicken curry. Both meals were freshly cooked, hot and tasty. Certainly, worth a visit!
Had a full English breakfast here and it was absolutely vile..All you could taste was grease ..The Bacon tasted disgusting, the sausages were tiny, the eggs were thrown on top and broke, the toast must of been toasted on a radiator, the beans were quite obviously cheap supermarket beans and the Hash Brown was hardly cooked...Spent the rest of the day feeling ill...I Usually go to the Gusto Grill next door but it was full ..The Welsh Deli was empty...I Now know the reason for that ... Disgusting!!
