Double Black Diamond Steakhouse

We thought maybe things had picked up here since the last bad reviews were left but man this place was bad. First we started off with a plate of hummus and pita as an appetizer and the hummus was the worst we've ever had. It was basically just garbanzo beans, no other flavors at all. My wife ordered the chicken pasta (which sounded delicious) and when it came out it had a hair right across the top. They took it back and replaced it very quickly and the second dish came out with some of the chicken still raw. So that effectively got rid of her appetite. I ordered the full rack of ribs with sweet potato fries and the ribs were the toughest I've ever eaten. I had to saw through the meat with a knife to separate the ribs and then it was like I was going to town on jerky on a bone. The BBQ sauce was good and the sweet potatoes were above average. However, in all, this meal would have cost us around $70 had they not comped my wife's meal. It still came to around $50 with us both only drinking water. So that's $70 for bland hummus, raw chicken pasta (with free hair), and jerky on a bone ribs.

We really didn 't have a choice of where to eat, due to the time of night and lack of restaurants at the top of the ski hill. But this steakhouse is located right in the Best western building and is very convenient. The food was so-so and extremely expensive. We wouldn 't eat there again if we had the choice.

This place is now called The Grand Steakhouse since it was acquired by Best Western Premier. I ate here on my recent trip and was pleasantly surprised. Price was a bit steep but pretty solid for dining options. I had the Grand Burger. The meat had a nice charred flavor to it. I also had the Chicken Pasta which was also very good. Service was friendly and they made sure to keep our waters refilled since that altitude can really get to ya. I'd come again.

Slightly expensive but my steak was AMAZING and definitely worth the money! Very nice restaurant and atmosphere, would recommend.

Didn't expect a great food out here and therefore not much concern on food but overall the service really need some improvements.
