Had I known the paddycake stack with three strips of bacon and two eggs would be worth my money, I might 've opted for the shortstack plate. I have NEVER seen pancakes this big and thick before, and the edges were crunchy! My life had been changed! lol Husband had Debbie 's Choice and it was sublime; the gravy has a secret ingredient that gave the gravy an almost floral uplift, like there were lavender honey in it. It was a notch above and we were too shy to ask the cook about it, since we might feel compelled to hug them. Feeders by the railings gave us visits from fairy-sized hummingbirds that danced around as we listened to the mountain tranquility in between cars passing on the highway like a swoosh. Their store also had some items I had never seen, like Dravite and the purple copper turquoise. Their stones/jewelry featured here are beautiful and priced for mountain convenience, not so much if you live in a competitive suburban market. But if nothing else, stop by and have a meal. We hope to come up one Saturday evening when they 're doing live music soon. The furnishings are beautiful, upscale rustic. I really can 't wait to come back!
Very friendly, we had a great lunch and let our son mine for treasure, he got a lot of awesome gems.
The food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly! Everything was prepared fresh and served hot, just like home-cooked meals should be. The ice cream was really enjoyable too! Plus, there's a fun activity where kids can pay $25 to sift through sand buckets and find gems in the backyard. It's a hit with the kids!
We stumbled upon this restaurant when we were leaving the Dupont Recreation area on the south side. Despite the heavy rain, we found a lovely covered porch in the back where we could enjoy our meal. The food reminded me of the comforting home-cooked dishes my mom would make. The chicken salad was delicious, and the fries were hot and crispy—just like the ones at Wendy's. The gift shop is charming, and the staff is friendly. If it looks crowded, be prepared for a bit of a wait. They don’t serve alcohol, but you can bring your own. If you're really hungry, consider grabbing a snack or some ice cream while you wait.
Amazing atmosphere and high quality food! We sat on the back deck which is beautiful. The server, Grace, made the experience even more special. It was also great to meet Cindy who prepared our delicious and extremely fresh food. Highly recommend the pork chop and the the Blue and Black steak. The okra was out of this world. Very impressed.
