Hillmann`s Taverna - Bremen

Let's start with the fact that this was not my idea.. Certain places are enough to look at from the outside to know this is not a good idea and it takes 3 minutes to prove you right. It does look busy though most of the days during lunch so I did not fight my company who chose this location one day - free your mind.. I am not even sure how to describe the type of cuisine - a mix of everything, drenched in cream sauce. Pasta in cream sauce, salads with cream sauce, rolls with cream sauce.. Tastes pretty much same too, regardless of what you order. Overall: not tasty, not healthy, not fresh, and definitely not worth a second chance. Cappuccino comes from the "button machine", so even coffee was bad.The area is not spoiled by choice of good lunch places but next time I will actually prefer not to eat at all then eat bad food.

This restaurant has a selection of common main dishes such as salads, pasta, pizzas for less than 10 Euros. The food is good and copious. They have cocktails, beer and wine.

My wife and I decided on Hillman's since it was near our hotel. We had no idea what to expect as far as dinner but we decided to give it a try. I ordered the Tortellini Bolognese and my wife ordered Penne Arabiata. Both were really good. You can also choose the type of Pasta you'd like with the Bolognese or Arabiata. The cocktails were also good and the pricing was right. The staff always smiling. We liked it here and returned the next day for some more.

Cosy place. Been there to eat three times, never been disappointed. The waitresses are great, they know english, which is impressive in Germany, they bring your order pretty fast and always having a smile on their face.Food is good, nothing special about it, nothing to object either. Prices are good for a restaurant close to city center and they have a smoking lounge also.Average meal with a coffee and a beer is around 16 euros.

This is one of several restaurants/bars that surround the Swissôtel on Hillmanplatz. Please note, it is NOT the Hillmann's Restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. The menu has a bit of everything from many countries round the world, so you should find something to suit. It's cheap and cheerful, and also has a take-away kiosk. Friendly staff. Very useful if you're in this area of Bremen. The very good rating is not because the food was outstanding, but for the price it was very good. The Chilean red wine was pretty stunning, though! There is also a self-contained smoking section.
