Engel - Bremen

The beautiful façade and inside décor belong to a former Pharmacy. Now a days it's a lovely Café which offers great breakfast, lunch and dinner. We came here for some coffee and snacks and it was very good. We loved the black & white antique tiles on the floor and had enjoyed some nice drinks too.

We stopped in for lunch on a rainy Sunday and were quite pleased with the atmosphere, service and the food. The meals were tasty and inventive--a nice break from the more typical German cuisine.

We had a very pleasant Sunday lunch here on one of the tables outside. There's an enormous brunch menu offering you a wide range of alternatives for the ultimate brunch -- there's also a limited à la carte menu from 1PM onwards. We had a most delicious dish of vegetable tortellini with truffle sauce, and a very good glass of dry white wine with it (this is a wine bar). I'd definitely come here often if I were living here!

After searching the whole street up and down for a non-smoking restaurant during a rainy day we finally ended up in this great winebar. We loved the ambiente, the wine & food selection. We just wanted to enjoy our free day in a foreign city and have a glas of wine before doing some shopping. We ended up sharing three different starters after each other (grilled peppers with aioli dip, bruschetta and baked potatoes with chilly dip), a bottle of great Malbec (after the first ordered per glass) and another bottle of the same to go. We thought a bit over 20 Euros for such a good wine quite a good deal. We tried to make a reservation for dinner for the same day to come back with our friend, who was participating at the Jazzahead conference but lucked out as every little spot was reserved already. We spent our whole afternoon there and never went shopping which will stick in our memories much more then trying on some clothes. Staff was professional but not overly smiley. When we ordered the second round it felt like the ice was a bit cracked and we left with the hope to return one day.

A large variety of breakfast selections - awesome. A nice and relaxed atmosphere inside and great to sit outside in the sun. The cakes are wonderful for the afternoon. I haven't tried the wine yet - will follow soon. The service is fast and friendly.
