Contribuiți la feedbackI ordered back ribs and they weren't cheap . I got home to find the top layer of ribs ( back ribs ) to be what I ordered . The bottom layer were side ribs though . It was obvious that they got one over on me . It was late so we just ate them anyway but this is not my first disappointment with this place . Check your order thoroughly before leaving because they seem to have a lot of errors with orders . Being the only Swiss chalet in town seems to give them an attitude . Not very much integrity at this place
Today my family and I dropped in to the Brantford Swiss Chalet for a late lunch. The restaurant wasn't full, and as we waited to be seated we watched the waitresses bustling around busily. And as we waited they passed by and smiled. And as we continued to wait one mentioned that someone would be by to seat us soon. And we waited and waited and waited. And then we left. Terrible Service.
Had supper at Swiss Chalet in Brantford on Sunday prior to birthday which was coming up in several days. The restaurant sent though a dessert gift which we thought we would take advantage of. Enjoyed the rib dinner with backed potato, bun and cole slaw. It was properly cooked to our liking. For dessert, we received the strawberry sundae. The server, Leticia treated us as if we were the only customers in the restaurant (special). Excellent service was provided. Our normal server (Ashley) came over later for a short chat. Always great seeing her.Overall, it was a good experience.
Well twice now I have gone through the drive thru and been unable to get served. So two strikes your out, I will not patronize this Swiss chalet for the drive thru or to eat in or take out. It looks like the management has allowed anarchy in the ranks since after waiting for a few minutes to be served I drove to the window and observed the young lady with the headset and it was around her neck and not on her ears where she could hear it. Too bad that a few poorly managed youths can ruin the reputation of a good chain and what used to be a good local eatery run by a respected local family. If the workers are taking privilege with the basic pretence of serving customers what else might they be taking privilege with? Maybe unhygienic practices or worse.....
Lunchtime found us at the Swiss Chalet on Lynden Road in Brantford recently. We were greeted with the friendliest greeting ever – and I underscore ever! – at this Swiss Chalet. That was a good start and we were taken from reception to a booth in this restaurant which was not very busy at that time. Our server took our orders. Swiss Chalet has a special on these days. “Two can dine for $14.99”, so my wife and I opted for that and our grandson ordered pesto penne with chicken ($15.49). I ordered a Diet Pepsi ($2.69) and my wife ordered tea ($1.99).So far, so good. When ordering our meals, my wife asked to have her French fries substituted for a backed potato. No problem, said the server.I asked to have my French fries substituted for a salad. No problem, said the server.A short time later, well within the time frame one would expect, our meals arrived.“This must be for another table,” I told the staff member who brought our meals, as I made a mental note that things were not very busy in this restaurant. When things are hectic busy, that's when one might expect an order mixup. Both of us had received fries with our chicken. My wife didn't want to be a bother, she kept her fries, despite the staff member's willingness to get things changed.I went for the change. I would rather have salad with my chicken than fries. Still one worries when one sends an order back to get it changed. No fuss, no muss. The staff member came back with my chicken and a pile of salad on that plate. A short time later, the server came back and apologized. She had my order in mind, but “punched in” something else, she said. No problem, all is forgiven.I definitely don't want anybody to be reprimanded for an order mixup. That server might have a lot of things on her mind. But despite all that, customers expect their orders to arrive, as ordered.Judging by other Trip Advisor reviews, it looks like our mixup might have been a "once in a Blue Moon" thing. Still, I would relish the opportunity to be a "mystery shopper" at Swiss Chalets anywhere. To be sure, we have always enjoyed the meals at Swiss Chalet. That was the case on this day in Brantford.Mixups aside, we went on our way in a happy state.
