Contribuiți la feedbackI'd like to give a better rating to this restaurant because the sushi was great and what we ordered came quickly; however there is a huge flaw in the ordering process. My first visit the wait staff left a lot to be desired. We were just barely greeted at the door and rushed to a table and handed menus, no explanation was given on how to order as our server couldn't be bothered to explain anything. I actually felt she was rude and rather be elsewhere. We sat for over 10 mins until we were addressed by another member of the waitstaff and she said are you ready to order? I stated can you please explain the process as we've never been here before...So I'll tell those who are curious how this restaurant functions. You have to order what you want directly from your server no iPad is provided and likewise no order sheet. Here lies the major problem... when the restaurant is packed and there is only one server taking orders from every table you wait a really long time to order. I'm sure this is done strategically so you get full waiting for your server. Bottom line the servers are very inattentive. I do need to mention that the sushi was fresh, tasted good and presented nicely. The Chinese portion is typical Chinese buffet style and serve yourself. It's very small and the food was mediocre but nevertheless it's available between long waits for menu ordering. I may return for takeoff orders but because of the long waits in between orders it makes it frustrating to dine in. Maybe this restaurant should consider getting with the times and introduce iPad ordering for their customers.
Visited Sushi Eight for the first time. Atmosphere was nice, very clean. Buffet was plentiful and food was hot. Everything we ordered off the menu was excellent and came out very fast. Great experience,
First off, any one who has given this place a good review has never eaten Sushi in a big city like Toronto, Waterloo or Hamilton, cause this is the Dollar Store version of a Sushi Restaurant. There is the Joy Sushi Bar in Brantford, but I believe they are owned by the same people so you're just getting a more expensive polished version, at big city prices. Today is the last Day I will ever eat at Sushi Eight or Joy Sushi Bar, the first and most is important reason, My GF never gets her A/C roll, EVER!! We have gone together 7 times and it is the first roll she orders once we sit down, and she never gets it. Today it took 45 minutes for the Hand roll version to get to our table, which was not what she ordered and should not have taken 45 minutes, it only takes 10 minutes to make, if you make the correct roll that is. it was the way the server replied to my request for supervisor, which was sorry ones not here. then when i asked where the rest of our order was., the stuff we ordered 45 minutes ago, she replied with.. well you have this stuff so eat it, that good enough for now. She did apologize to use after another table sat before us had yet to receive and food, and a table after us only got one dish. Sushi eight has not lost my service for life, and Joy sushi will never get mine.
Again, I ask where do the good reviews come from ? Took my niece here for dinner pre-movie . Place looked dinghy& dirty. Sat at bank booth. Looked at buffet . Looks unfresh , dry, gross. My niece insisted on staying as time was a concern. I attempted to order off menu . Water was brought to table in dirty jug and left on table . I was scared to drink from plastic glass.wait staff poor service, never did explain how menu works. First meal off menu came out cold . Inedible . Was told would make fresh . Heated in microwave , came out hot but dry and rubberish. Sent back asked to have taken off bill . Didn't end up eating . Niece ate crab legs off buffet and didn't mind them but everything else was msg laden ,fake kinda Chinese food and cold or tasted poor. Will never return !!!
I really like this place. Good food and it is very consistent. I really like the soups and also the sushi of course.
