Contribuiți la feedbackCute place but waitress was terrible, only about 3 tables in place had patrons, she never once checked to see if we wanted beers, couldn't be bothered to leave her texting. When we did order she had a terrible attitude. Unimpressed and terrible service I won't go back.
A nice place, the owner is hospitable. There are several choices of imported beers, all are good and cold. They also have wifi which worked very well.
I went to the pub last night for the first time in a while. The place has been renovated since my last visit, and it is a significant improvement. However, I was a bit unsure about the trough in the men's restroom - it felt like a sheep might come up for a drink at any moment. I missed being served by Dave Dodds, but I suppose his daughter has taken over now. It's a great spot to enjoy a few drinks with friends.
I went out for a birthday celebration and was searching for a place to continue the evening. We stopped at this restaurant on a whim and ended up staying until closing time. They had live music, a fantastic beer selection, and a welcoming atmosphere. We even ended up sitting at a table and playing cards for an hour. I will definitely be looking for a chance to return.
However, when I revisited the restaurant many years later, I was shocked to see that the family was no longer there and the original Scottish decor had been replaced with cheap linoleum tiles. The spirit of the place was gone, and I was disappointed by the changes. This was the one spot in Brantford that I truly missed. As I walked down the narrow stairs to the restroom, I couldn't help but reminisce about the times when I was 18 years old and felt like I was in Europe while using the same facilities. It was a nostalgic feeling of being far from home yet still feeling at home. For those who never had the chance to experience Plaid under Dave's ownership, you truly missed out. I hope that one day, someone will bring back the warmth and welcoming atmosphere that the restaurant once had.
