Great value for sushi and meals. I've ordered takeout from here several times, and the quality is consistently good. I've only visited in the evening when it's usually quite calm, but I imagine they get most of their business from nearby office workers during the day.

The sushi hand rolls and cooked dishes are decent. However, the fresh sashimi was not presented well. The lunch specials offer good value, but overall, the value for money is just average.

I often stop by for lunch, and their menu features all the classics you'd expect from a Japanese sushi restaurant, including okonomiyaki, sashimi, katsu curry, and more. The decor strikes a balance between classy and casual, creating a comfortable atmosphere, even though it positions itself as an upscale sushi restaurant. What really sets Tsuru apart is its refreshing lack of pretentiousness, especially for a place that is considered a higher-tier dining option. The service is impressive—attentive, polite, and friendly without being intrusive. At first glance, the ambiance might suggest higher prices, but that’s not the case. The costs are comparable to typical takeaway spots, with most meals around the ten-dollar mark and more elaborate dishes for about twenty. In fact, I found it more affordable to dine here than at the usual Sushi Trains, and the portion sizes are noticeably larger. For example, the sashimi features generous chunks of tuna that are easily double the size of what you’d find at a Sushi Train, making it easy to feel satisfied after just one meal. Having dined at several Japanese restaurants, I've noticed that consistency is crucial since many offer similar dishes and flavors. Thus, exceptional service and good value are what truly stand out. In this respect, Tsuru excels, catering well to both casual diners and those looking for a more formal experience.

Attentive polite service, delicious food: first time here, my partner enjoyed the grilled fish salad, I had a very pleasant fried rice with salmon, cabbage and carrot, and our child enjoyed tuna and avocado maki as well as some of our meals. We'll be back
