Their experienced Kitchen Team consistently provides us with beautiful delicious freshly prepared meals. <br/ <br/ My Chirashi Don $23) is nicely presented and the selection of sliced seafood is super fresh. A very satisfying meal. Phuong Tran’s Tempura Prawns $18) looks wonderful. The five large Prawns taste fresh and the Tempura batter is crunchy. Very appetising and great value!<br/ <br/ Our waitress is friendly and so helpful. Her Blue Hawaiian Cocktail $12) is delicious and refreshing! Our three consecutive 5/5 ratings are well deserved. Well done Izakaya Rokun!
What’s not to love? Exceptional fresh sashimi, perfectly cooked tempura, ice cold beer! And the staff are so friendly- one to go back, again and again!
We were tempted by the photo of Sashimi held by Joe K’s mum, which looks fresh and spectacular. Revisited last night for dinner. Congratulation to this restaurant, it has lots of improvements in all aspect. Music background is soft, service is friendly and attentive. Food-wise, we ordered the sashimi entrée and the share hot-pot with fish roes. Although they only serve one complimentary side dish of seaweed, its taste and quality deserve thumb-up. It ends up that we have three dishes for the night. <br/ Sashimi plate looks great with seven varieties of seafood. They are fresh with top quality. Hot pot does not let us down with chef insisted spiciness and two varieties of fish roes with generous portion. Overall, we are very impressed this time. <br/ <br/ Sep 2018 Rating 3/5 <br/ Explored this newly opened Izakaya at Runcorn plaza. Prior to the exploration, my gut feeling told me that it may be another Korean owed Japanese eatery because there are so many restaurant in the same shopping centre owned by Korean. Walked in and was surprised by the nice lay-out and passions from the team-workers. Although service seems a little bit 'green ', I still appreciate their services. Perused the menu, which is amazingly broad in terms of varieties of dishes that are offering. Tried some skewer and a hot pot. Taste and portion are fine but the whole dining atmosphere was seriously ruined by the noisy background music..... It may be due to my age that I just need to enjoy my meal in a relaxing vibe instead of such of such distracting atmosphere.
One of my board game buddies has long recommended that I try out Rokun Izakaya, a new Korean run Japanese eatery in Runcorn plaza. Situated next to Moge tea, it has become fairly popular, thus making it even more difficult to source a parking spot during peak hours. Nevertheless determined, I made a point to try it out.
The sashimi was great I’m normally quiet picky on what fish I eat raw but with their sashimi special I was able to eat all the fishes. The ebi tempura was good wasn’t over fried and the prawn wasn’t small either, but with the charcoal grill skewers I wish they charcoal it abit longer and season it a slightly more and it would be good. The kaki sumono oysters had really good flavour but for me I prefer smaller oysters.
