Contribuiți la feedbackCha Cha, First I love the name of the restaurant. I had $110 Wagyu Striploin with soft shell crab dish, Wagyu spring rolls and fresh prawn dish. I’m spoiled by the Wagyu I had in Japan, so it wasn’t the best Wagyu I’ve had, but enjoyed the appetisers and great vibe. I give this place 4 bears
Was looking for a good restaurant near Eagle pier and saw Cha Cha Char. Place wasn’t packed as I was a bit early for dinner so I got seated right away. Waitress was very warm and happily ran me through their menu. I decided to go with their grain-fed wagyu steak cooked medium-rare paired with a glass of red wine. Wait time was reasonable. Food was good, as expected of its price. Wow factor isn’t there but I’m happy to recommend the place to colleagues as the ambiance and the staff were great.
What a fantastic establishment. The service was absolutely amazing; Thanks Alejandro for sharing your breadth of knowledge of the red wine list, you were very entertaining. I had the wagyu rump cap and it was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time (And I hail from Australia’s beef capital Keep up the great work Cha Cha Char, I will be back again soon!
A steakhouse offering some of the city’s most premium cuts of meat and treating them with the utmost dignity and culinary care. It’s one of the defining venues of the Eagle Street Pier experience. Full transparency is given in their grill menu offering comprehensive detail on the age, breed and rearing which alleviates any doubts on their claim as one of the best grill houses in the country if not the state. Ranges from $47 and $110 per dish, all cuts are grainfed offering that extra fattiness and render to flavour the meat.
My husband and I dined here on a busy Saturday night and enjoyed our experience. The staff really are an asset – very well informed, polite, helpful and very friendly. To start, my husband ordered a glass of wine and I chose a mocktail. The wine list is extensive, without being too overwhelming with a good selection available by the glass. It is not cheap, but the quality is excellent which makes it a little easier (and delicious! to swallow.<br/ <br/ We shared an entrée – scallops with crispy chicken, asparagus puree and bacon cream. Sold by the bacon cream, this was the highlight of the dish. The flavours worked so well together, although I thought the chicken was a bit of an odd addition, however it all tasted lovely. It was very small to share between two, however was a nice way to start our meal.<br/ <br/ For mains, we both chose steak as Cha Cha Char’s are renowned for them. I unfortunately, had to have mine cooked well done being pregnant, but my waiter assured me the wagu rump was probably the best cut of beef to have well done as the marbling makes it still very juicy and succulent. He was right – it was lovely and I know it would have been even better if I’d been able to have it done the way I REALLY wanted it cooked! The sides it comes with are perhaps not enough to make it a very filling meal, so I would recommend choosing one or two to share. My steak came with the Portobello mushroom, and another accompaniment I can’t remember what it was, topped with dukkah, but it was delicious. My husband chose the T-bone and had the potato rosti and corn on the side. We also shared a roasted garlic and pepper sauce which was excellent – FULL of flavour – and some chips – also crispy and really delicious. Both steaks were cooked to order and full of flavour. I like that they offer mustards and horseradish as well.<br/ <br/ For dessert, my husband chose the sticky date pudding with bourbon caramel sauce, mascarpone cream and vanilla icecream – a favourite dessert of his. I chose the apple tart with caramel sauce and clotted cream. My dessert came out with strawberry icecream and no cream and my husband’s came out with strawberry icecream and no cream. He questioned this with our regular waiter who checked with the kitchen. They had run out of vanilla icecream, but brought my cream out separately. I appreciated that they investigate this, and also comped one dessert which was very kind and shows excellent customer service. Perhaps if the waiters who brought our desserts out had explained the icecream situation, he wouldn’t have questioned it with our waiter as we completely understand that menu items need to change due to unexpected happenings. This does make us sound like total food snobs, however for a restaurant with premium prices, I believe it's ok to ask the question if things aren't what you expected.<br/ <br/ All in all, we really enjoyed our meal at Cha Cha Char’s – I wouldn’t say it’s a romantic setting as the furnishings are a little tired and dated and it can get very loud in the restaurant, however it was a very nice evening. Fantastic that it is on the Entertainment Card, as it helps take the sting out of the expense because it’s not a cheap place to dine. Fantastic service, very nice food and great wine (which I didn’t get to enjoy!!
