Contribuiți la feedbackA great local spot for some quality coffee, nice food and maybe a quite drink on a weekend afternoon. Being close, we here quite regularly and have never been disappointed.
Bookmarked this place from the two very nice reviews of MB and Mandy Bernadette and eventually arranged my exploration last Sunday morning. It was a fair bit of driving from Daisy Hill but it is worth for the trip. Opinion on its location is quite subjective, however, it can catch your gaze easily if you drive pass by. Whole premise looks new and lay-out nice and neat. Service is friendly and I have to give my compliment to the barista because her work is so consistent that the feeling from my flat white is exactly the same as Mandy. Nice coffee art with strong enough taste at one shot I rarely order double so I can compare strength of my flat white at different cafes), very good pouring skill. Thanks for the tips from MB Mandy that I ordered the 'Reuben ', which was the first time that I had such kind of toastie. Large piece of sandwich with generous corned beef and cheese. The sauerkraut a kind of German pickled cabbage) is the hero that links the protein and cheese providing good moisture and sourness to each bite. Well done! Overall, it is really a local gem! I rarely give full mark to a cafe but you deserve it. Cheers!
Gourmet toasties are the go here, but no, we didn 't opt for them. Mr P. loves a fritter so he chose the corn and zucchini fritter with black bean salsa. Excuse my rant, but all too often a so called fritter is a flour heavy pancake with a kernel of corn or veg. thrown in. Very happily, these were not like that. Perhaps a tiny bit heavier than you would hope for, but these were full of corn and zucchini. The salsa was 'interesting ', though he would have liked more oomph. You know, spicy and tangy and maybe a bit of chilli heat. I chose potato rosti with mushrooms and poached eggs. I enjoyed this dish. I am a big fan of mushies, and there was a generous serve here. The rosti was golden and crunchy outside (both of them , and soft inside. I would have liked my eggs a bit softer and more runny, but they were still tasty. A generous and filling lunch for me. And yes it was nice to have a bit of green stuff on the plate, to cut the richness of the dish. This place is pooch friendly; see the dog bowl and hitching post above. Enjoy all day breakfasts, cool drinks, tea, coffee and sweets. They care about your gluten and dairy intolerances (unlike me ha ha! . And open up early 6 am weekdays, 6:30 am on weekends for your coffee and brekkie demands.
This was a remarkable experience, tucked away in half suburbia and next to a main road this place is a must. We beat the early morning rush and where greeted and found a seat, quickly served with table water and coffee order taken we then made the main meal decision. Coffee arrived and it was brilliant, great strength to it and didn 't decrease in strength as It came to an end. Mains started with some famous toasted sandwiches, first the 'Fabio ' truffle pesto with prosciutto, rocket and parmesan cheese was perfectly toasted and wasnt drowning in to much of one ingredient meaning you could taste everything, and the second sandwich, the 'Reuben ' Corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing, this sandwich was my favourite by far, perfect amount of sauerkraut and cheese and the corned beef just spectacular both sandwiches with perfect amount of toppings and the way a sandwich should be.We also indulged in the brekky menu and I had the eggs benny, this to came with perfect presentation and the taste supported it, the mushrooms full of flavour with bacon cooked crispy and rendered wonderfully, I couldn 't get enough of this, again the meal wasnt drowning in sauce and the hollandaise was the right amount. The eggs, wonderfully cooked and runny the minute you cut into it, avocado a beautiful addition. If you are out north side then two streets over is a must to stop into.
Saturday Brekky Date! Stumbled across this beauty on facebook and boy am I glad that I did! Right on the corner of Swan St and Frantic Traffic Everyone For Themselves I Don't Know The Name St, this gorgeous cafe blinks sweetly at you.<br/ <br/ Reading through the reviews on facebook (I only just recently asked for this place to be added on Z), I learned that 1. They make boss Toasties 2. I need these boss Toasties 3. Their menu is still evolving and it looks simple and delicious.<br/ <br/ For a cafe known for their amazing toasties, I was not leaving without trying it. As well as toasties to share we ordered of their breakfast menu too. Eggs Benny with a side of mushrooms and avocado for MB and Corn fritters (with black bean salsa, two poached eggs and mint and lemon aioli) and a side of haloumi for me. Toasties we ordered the Mr Fabio (Truffle Pesto with Prosciutto, Rocket and Parmesan cheese) and the Reuben (Thinly sliced Corned Beef, Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut and Russian dressing). <br/ <br/ Corn fritters first AMAZING. Probably the best corn fritters I've eaten anywhere. Love the magnificent crunch on the outside and so soft and incredibly flavourful on the inside. The black bean salsa was delicious, excellent texture against the tomato and fritters and rounded off with the refreshing and light mint and lemon aioli. <br/ <br/ Toasties Not enough words they were freaken EPIC! I can see why their toasties are popular. Classic combinations that Two Streets Over have nailed to perfection. The bread was perfectly toasted and they were not shy with the fillings. The Fabio delicious truffle pesto paired beautifully with the slightly salty prosciutto and parmesan and peppery rocket. Reuben layers of yummy corned beef, loads of sauerkraut and perfect amount of swiss cheese and dressing to bring it all together.<br/ <br/ Coffee my usual mocha and extra, extra strong flat white for the Mr. Excellent coffee, well rounded and perfectly balanced no complaints here at all. They have a herb garden by the outdoor seating area and it is very clear that they use the herbs and it's not just there for display! <br/ <br/ Gorgeous cafe to look at, DELICIOUS food, amazing coffee, friendly and happy staff with an ambience to match. Totally, hands down recommend this place and hell yeah, I will be back!!
