East Delight Chinese - Bowie

This Chinese takeout restaurant in the Bowie/Crofton area is fantastic. We often order from here when we're craving classic American-style Chinese takeout. The fresh ingredients, consistent flavor, and fast, friendly service make it a go-to spot for us.

I was craving fried rice and decided to try the chicken fried rice at this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it tasted. Coming from the south, I am used to getting larger portions for the money, but I was impressed by the quality of the rice here. Overall, I would give it four stars due to the great taste.

I am not sure if there is a new chef or staff at this restaurant post-covid, but the shrimp fried rice is lacking in flavor. It seems like they simply steamed yellow rice and added shrimp to call it shrimp fried rice. This used to be my go-to Chinese restaurant in the area, but this is the second time the fried rice has disappointed me. Additionally, the staff member working at the counter had poor customer service skills. He was playing games on his phone while I was trying to place my order, which I found to be very rude.

The food just didn't have any favor like an seasoning. The PuPu platter was just sad everything tasted the same and that was just grease. The wanton was like warm water with large thick tasteless noodles floating in it. Lo mein is just greasy too and sesame chicken is just tough with no taste. Frist and last time I order from here.

I am disappointed in this restaurant. They must have a different cook because prior to COVID I never had such poor food quality. The Pepper Chicken was unimpressive and the sauce was basically gel. The chicken was, also, chewy like the Lo Mien I paid extra for. That was drowned in sauce to try to mask the chewiness. I am guessing I didn?t get a fresh noodle dish. It?s sad really because they were pretty good in 2018 and 2019. I?d go elsewhere.
