S'Bastberger-Stuewel - Bouxwiller

I have stopped a couple of times in Alsace on the way down to Italy from the UK. Here is the best food I have had in France and the restaurant is so charming that you just feel like a local, at home. Top food,...the veal Cordon Bleu is highly recommended.

We were driven to the restaurant by a local vehicle recovery centre (don't ask, it's a long story The restaurant serves typical Alsacienne local cuisine which was extremely tasty and excellent value. I chose the plat du jour which was the typical salad starter followed...by a delicious osso bucco. My partner chose the deep fried camembert and Munster combo off the main menu. Delicious! The restaurant was busy that lunchtime and we were shown onto a mezzanine at the top of the buikding with views down on the diners below us! The staff were extremely accommodating and went out of their way to help us in our moment of need. We owe them a very big thank you, and must find our way back there

A place to see and appreciate original alsacian cooking. Staff is very agreable Plates are excellent But you,must reserve

We were there for lunch sunday. We did not take the complete menu and ate only lamb shanks without appaetizersand desert. We were completly satisfied and could not eat more for dinner . The wine and beer were also delicious

Typical food. reasonal price. wonderful atmosphere all based on witches (sorcieres): paintings, stencils and dolls. We took les Plaisirs d'Alsace (presskopf maison, jarret de pork and tarte maison). Great choice. I recommend it.
