Great local pub with very good food and a nice atmosphere. The mains were on the smaller side, so expect to need some starters/sides as well.

We were staying just up the road from The Mousetrap and visited three times. Excellent food, Sunday lunch is fabulous. Friendly service, great atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Would definitely recommend. Service: 5 Location: 5

DO NOT RECOMMEND. The reviews about the very slow service are no joke. Made a lunch booking for 12pm for my mum 's birthday. Arrived promptly at 12 (we were the 2nd party to be waiting outside the restaurant as they weren 't ready at 12). Fine, it happens. Was seated, got our drinks fine. Got our starters and they forgot the bread for the soup. And then we noticed it started getting busy. However, an hour and a half later we still didn 't have our mains and the tables around us who were seated after us had finished their starters and main by this point. The guy at the bar admitted that this was unacceptable so we just paid for our starter and drinks and left. No don 't worry, drinks on the house for the inconvenience . He couldn 't give an explanation for why our food still wasn 't ready. Couldn 't give us a receipt either so I entered my email to have it emailed (the receipt never came). Just shocking and put a real damper on my mums birthday.
