Toby Carvery Northbourne - Bournemouth

We visited this restaurant for the carvery. It was very busy because they had a 50% off deal for Black Friday. Some of the staff appeared stressed and tired, but all of them were nice and polite. We were seated in Martin's section. He was a standout! He provided great conversation and was also funny. He is a valuable asset to your establishment. We will bypass the other two Toby Carveries to come back to your restaurant for his excellent service. The food was delicious. Thank you.

I made a reservation for breakfast at 10:30, but upon arrival, I was informed that they had run out of eggs. I suggested going to the Tesco across the road to get some, but they couldn't accommodate that. We were asked if we still wanted to eat, so we decided to stay since there weren't many other options at that time. The tomatoes were chopped instead of whole, and they only had white bread for toast with no brown available. The toaster either undercooked the bread or burnt it if you put it in twice. It wasn't a great experience, especially since we were there to celebrate a friend's birthday.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit and I will be returning. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is family friendly. Overall, a great place to dine.

On holiday in the New Forest we visited a few 'gastro ' pubs for lunch and dinner, overpriced meals where one gets 'jus ' instead of gravy. Having grown tired of being ripped off there was only one thing for it..........a visit to Toby! We were not disappointed, the 18 members of the family trooped down to Bournemouth for the best lunch we 'd had all week. As an Army Veteran and with NHS and Met Police Blue Light card holder members of the family, we all enjoyed an excellent meal at a discounted price. The grub was just as Mum would cook, good wholesome food, not mucked about with and topped off with gravy! The staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient, which made it a great outing for all of the family.

As previous reviews have mentioned...dirty, run-down, grubby, disgusting toilets, mediocre food and desperately needing a refurb. I understand that the planned one has been delayed, so I would give it a miss until its finished.
