Cafe Obscura - Bournemouth

Terrible food Great spot Poor cold breakfast Bad Coffee Prime spot and shouldnt be open Totally badly run. Poor quality and old and tired

Staff are horrible. Myself and family were sat down waiting to have menus brought to the table as we were asked if we were customers. After saying yes they proceeded to tell us to leave as it’s ‘private property’. We were very confused as we were waiting to order and she was so rude. Never coming back here again. Very disappointed as this was a really nice cafe once upon a time. I am absolutely mortified at the staff behaviour.

Came for breakfast as it’s in such a nice spot, the service we received was good and the food was decent however it is extremely over priced. I would eat here because there was nothing wrong with the food or service but the price puts me off. The toilets also need a serious clean and revamp. I found the ones directly on the beach were cleaner. It could be amazing here, just needs some tweaking and a revamp.

It was a nice sunny day we came across this Cafe’ in Bournemouth with outside seating so went to The Bar to order, 2 Toasties 2Small Ciders, the man that served us was totally disinterested did not offer a receipt once we had paid by Card Struggled to find a clean table to sit at outside , but used our own tissues to clean one, the situation was however, nice, overlooking a garden area had a bit if a buzz with lots of people around, going to and fro! However, the food was tasteless and unappetising although the drinks were ok, such a shame as in this location it could be a very nice meeting place. but actually was scruffy dirty with below par service and food , sorry “must do better”

After not been in this cafe for years and returning to Bournemouth to visit my family, I decided to pay another visit with my 2 grown up daughters and my 16 year old son. It was Saturday 29th April and we'd spent the day in town and fancied an afternoon coffee. It was sunny but still a bit chilly, so we decided to do like everyone else and tried to move a table to the sunshine in line with the many other tables that were already in the sun. To our shock horror, a member of staff who appeared to be of middle eastern decent, came out shouting and snatching the chairs off us and the table off my son who froze on the spot. He argued that if we did that everyone else would. But all the other tables had already been moved to the sun and only 2 or 3 left...so no argument there. He shouted at my daughters and asked if they wanted to take a photo of him as they were looking at him in toral shock at his sheer aggressiveness. We moved along and overheard him trying to convince the remaining onlooking customers that he was right. He is believed to be the assistant manager. I have never been treated so badly and so humiliated in a public eatery before. It was supposed to be a lovely visit to my daughters in Bournemouth but that experienced tarnished the weekend break. I will not be returning and would not recommend it to my worst enemy!!
