Had the steak on sizzle platter with vegetables and chips. I must say we were very hungry after the days exertions but this was huge. Steak could’ve been a little more tender but overall 4/5. Service wonderful and friendly.
Fondue is a bit too muc for lunch any ordinary day, but if you spendd the day walking about the Gd St Bernard it is absolutely right. Add to this the friendly service and the selection of wine and monastic beers ...
A group of us stopped at Cafe Mont-Joux for drinks on our drive through the Grand Saint Bernard Pass. We thought the drinks were a tad expensive but the views were good. As well as food and drink you can get gifts and souvenirs.
We had a lovely simple lunch at Restaurant Mont-Joux on a Saturday, contrary to what many have reviewed here. The terrace sits in stupendous view of the panorama, with a clear glass protection from wind, and plenty of sun to boot. The atmosphere is cozy, and while the server was busy serving by himself, we did not have to wait long for service. We ordered a farmer's vegetable soup with cheese for 14 chf, a warm goat-cheese salad for 18,50 chf, and a portion of frites for 8 chf. We asked the server if he could add some vegetables on the same plate for our little one, which they did no problem (without charging more). While we didn't have dessert, the options looked very good. No extra charge for tap water. This place should be a go-to if you are looking for something a bit more casual than what the Hospice offers. There is a nice souvenir shop down below that sells local products. All in all, a really nice stop!
