Les Remparts - Boulogne-sur-Mer

Give it a go. Nothing wrong with the food or service, my moan is dogs, I don't like eating with scrounging dogs brought in by other people, I understand the difference of opinion, given, I am a dog owner but dogs have their place and restaurants is not it. However, the restaurant is not bad at all in terms of well prepared, hot boeuf bouguignon reasonably priced and we would return, however do something about the amount of dogs allowed in.

A nice location in a square inside the walled city. There is both indoor and outdoor seating .The staff are friendly and helpful. There is an extensive menu with a couple of reasonably priced set menu options. We had an enjoyable meal there.

Although located in a nice spot in the old town of Boulogne, this restaurant was awful. Not only was food poor, the service was severely lacking. The waiters lazed around avoiding us when we were waiting for our plates to be cleared or waiting to pay. They were not friendly and despite the lack of customers they preferred to act disinterested slumped against a wall. Three of us ordered the menu plaisir (the more expensive of the three set menus) looking forward to delicacies like escargots and scallops. However, the snails soaked in an oil tasted of soil and the scallops were average at best. Our desserts creme brulee and lemon tarte were overly sugary. Overall we left disappointed and worried for our stomachs. Shame as location was excellent. Wish we'd read the reviews first.

Ate here as our usual favourite in the old town was closed. Whilst the menu looked good the food when it came was somewhat bland and the sauce with the chicken utterly tasteless - mind you the chips were nice and the half bottle of bourgogne was delicious
