Whenever anybody comes to Boulder to visit and they ask for the best place to go for food while they're here, we ALWAYS suggest Kathmandu II as the first and most important restaurant for them to visit ABOVE ALL ELSE!!!!!Literally just eat here. Just pay the price. It's worth it and WAY better than any White person deserves!!!!
Great lunch buffet! Spiced for white people but eh… I get it.
Review for lunch buffet only:The food at this restaurant was terrible. The Naan wasn't cooked right. The chicken was bad. It was cold and had no flavor. When we came in there was very little to eat and when they replaced the food it was all liquid or tasted and looked completely different. There was no vegetarian options except for channa which was over and they didn't refill, a zucchini masala which was still good, and vegetable rice which had pieces of rice uncooked in it but it was okay. I will not come back to this place. It was terrible. This review was really generous.
Love this place. One of my go to restaurants in Boulder. The staff is always super friendly and it always takes me back to Nepal (one of my fav places in the world). It’s great for dine in and take out. We usually get the saag paneer since they actually include nice chunks of paneer and a hearty spinach sauce, chicken/sweet potato masala, aloo gobi, and of course samosas and garlic naan.
I'm only giving 2 stars because Katmandu is way over priced! I used to frequent there for the buffet in the pre pandemic days. I've been there a few times after the pandemic. They used to make the naan bread fresh to order and it was crisp, fresh and delicious. Now they premake it for the buffet and it gets soggy. Too expensive for me. The Tandoori Kitchen's buffet in Lafayette is much better priced at $14.95, and is just as large if not larger with more options. They make the naan bread fresh to order without it laying on the buffet getting soft n soggy. There are a few other Indian buffets out there and all priced at $14.95, which seems to be the standard norm these days for Indian buffets. By far, Tandoori Kitchen has the best Indian food in Boulder County, in my opinion. They even freshly grind their own spices that they use in their food.
