Contribuiți la feedbackWes the bartender server is so wonderful. He helped me pick the perfect beer (Old Cornish Hen) to compliment my cottage pie pasty. The food is delicious and conforming. The atmosphere is homey and perfect. Go there.
The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere located right on Massachusetts Avenue. They offer outdoor seating during the spring and summer months, however, they do not allow pets. They have a great variety of beers available, including five or six draft options with different styles, including Guinness which is poured perfectly. The pastries are a bit pricey, but it would be beneficial for them to consider making smaller, more affordable options.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The staff were incredibly friendly and the pasties were delicious! I can confidently say that it was the best pasty I have ever tried. The English pub atmosphere was also wonderful - it felt very authentic and not overly touristy.
I found this place to be disappointing. As a British person, the only connection to British culture was their claim to serve Cornish pasties. However, their OG pasty had large chunks of meat, too much onion, and a strange taste. The pastry was good though. The fries were chewy and inedible. We requested HP sauce but received BBQ sauce instead. The British beers, which should be served warm, were actually served cold and tasted off. All of this cost around $80. Next time, I will try a place in East Boston for pies, even though they are Australian, as it may be closer to British cuisine than this restaurant. Additionally, if a restaurant is representing British food in the US and hoping to attract British customers, it should not have a large advertisement for a drink called a "car bomb" outside. This is not a joke to British people and can bring up unpleasant memories. Overall, this place is not truly British, the food is overpriced, and it does not accurately depict British cuisine or Cornish pasties. I would recommend avoiding it.
WOW!!!! The Chix Pot pie, mushy peas, and garlic jalapeño chips were amazing!
