Umai - Boston

The sushi here is really impressive for the Boston area. The fish was fresh, and the rolls were quite flavorful. It was a bit on the expensive side, especially the sashimi. The service was acceptable, but it did take a while for the food to arrive—about 40 minutes after ordering. Overall, it was a solid experience, particularly considering how busy it was that day.

I’m sorry this sushi roll (pic) is the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The problem was this place didn’t cook rice correctly. It’s wet mushy , no taste and no texture ! You can’t open sushi restaurant if you don’t know how to cook sushi rice

This is some of the best sushi I've ever experienced! The customer service is excellent, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The location on Newbury St. is perfect!

The tuna had an unusual taste, and the rice was rather bland. Considering its prime location in the heart of Boston, I expected more. The service was average at best. I was also disappointed that the house salad didn't come with the traditional ginger dressing, which I was really hoping for.

The restaurant has a very nice setup where you can dine on a cute porch (inside) and, through its windows, you get really nice views of the street. I have to say, the tempura shrimp is the best I’ve ever had. So crispy, fluffy, perfectly cooked and notoily at all! The edamame were good and the steamed vegetable dumplings were really good too. The makis were good but the optionsthey have aren’t the usual maki options you see in other restaurants and I feel like I would have enjoyed the usual optionsmore than the ones they offer. The fish tasted really fresh though!
