The kababab and falafel plates were amazing. so delicious. everything was fresh and so delicious. I was so excited, finally after reading about it online. we're safe back.
This spot is a must! It is so delicious and freshly made. We were so so impressed and pleased with our meal. And SO affordable. 10/10!!
Enjoyed the Tawakal Plate and Vegetarian Platter. Definitely planning to come back to try their biryani. Piers Park is only a half mile away and a wonderful location to have your dinner at sunset overlooking Boston Harbor.
The hotel restaurant was closed, so we decided to take a short walk down the road for a meal and stumbled upon a hidden gem of a North African restaurant - something that is rare to find in the Pacific Northwest where we had just come from. Chris ordered the braised lamb over saffron rice, while I opted for the fish biryani with their homemade spicy hot sauce, which they claimed was not harissa but still packed a punch that left my ears ringing and my taste buds delighted. We also tried their homemade Somali spiced tea called shaah cadays, which quickly became my new favorite drink with its dominant flavor of cardamom, hints of cinnamon, a kick of ginger, and a peppery finish that I absolutely loved. The staff was incredibly friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. We were grateful that we strayed from the beaten path today and had such a refreshing experience.
